The recovering weeping willow in my garden. Poor tree had all its limbs cut off due to sickness earlier this year - but its strong soul has it growing back!

I remember this editorial from when it came out quite well. Loved it then and still do. My favorite image is the last one (at the bottom right). I tore it out of the magazine and stuck it to the wall near my desk at the time.

What delicateness - from the composition & color - to the model, her perfect facial expression and pose - brilliant idea. If only everyone could appreciate what hard work goes into creating an image like this! On a gloomy winter day back in December, as I was wondering about my parents’ home searching for inspiration, I started taking a closer look at chandeliers. I had never observed them from a different perspective - i.e. - looking straight up at them. I proceeded to lay down on the floor and take a peek. I liked what I saw.

My camera was in my hands a few minutes later as I got back into position, grounded directly beneath that which giveth light. And thus was born the beginning of my Chandelier Series, which started with these three images and is growing.
